The Longevity and Brilliance of Halo Headlights

Posted by Josh.B. on Jun 21st 2017

When it comes to aftermarket lighting accessories, halo headlight rings might be the most popular option. These devices are built to produce exquisitely bright light in an array of colors, and they are vastly superior to the factory lights that are installed in most vehicles. The technology that goes into these lights is completely state-of-the-art, and they use less energy to produce more light for longer periods of time. One of the most notable brands in the halo headlight market is ORACLE, and they have manufactured halo headlights using the classic CCFL technology for years. Not only that, but they are pioneers when it comes to new forms of lighting technology, including advanced SMD LEDs and even plasma halos.

One of the most striking features of these lights is their longevity. Standard CCFL halos are rated to last for at least 50,000 hours, and LED halos boast a lifespan of 60,000 hours. The plasma option offers the longest-lasting utility with at least 100,000 hours of utility, which is enough time to drive a vehicle several million miles. There is absolutely no chance these lights will be outlasted by the vehicle in which they are installed.

The technology in these lights allows them to produce light in various colors as well. Each halo variety has different color potential, and one of the most popular options for colorized light is the ColorSHIFT option from ORACLE. ColorSHIFT halos are made with RGB light diodes that can be made to produce any color within the spectrum, and they are easily controlled wirelessly with remotes. The ColorSHIFT option is only available with the LED halo variety since that technology allows for RGB diode arrangement.

Halos come in many different configurations for just about any vehicle, and there are even some that are built to be waterproof so they can be installed right on top of the existing headlight assembly, like the 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler JK Waterproof LED Headlight Halo Kit. These lights are made with an adhesive backing that sticks directly to the outside of the headlight on your vehicle, and while these are made specifically for Jeep Wranglers from 2007-2017, there are many other vehicle-specific waterproof options as well. These provide the same lighting power, but they have been resin-injected to ensure no moisture reaches the diodes. Every halo kit from ORACLE also comes with a lifetime warranty, which makes perfect sense when their extreme longevity is taken into account.
